Congested place, overcrowd of people have not only troubled the air passengers at Kathmandu’s Tribhuwan International Airport but also the airplanes are facing difficulties in landing and taking off.

Keeping all these things into consideration, Rupandehi’sSiddharthanagar, which is 290km far from Kathmandu, has been taken as the destination for the new international airport. This is how, the concept of constructing International airport at Siddharthanagar has been emerged. Along with publicizing the concept of brining the new international in use, the public are expressing their happiness beyond the limit. With the same concept, the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport has been speeded up.
Since 1958 AD, this airport was started; and government has targeted to bring it in use as the international airport since 2018 AD. And, according to the same target, 23 percent tasks have been completed by now. With the loan support of ADB (Asian Development Bank), this airport was inaugurated on Magh 1, 2071. Up to the first four months, all the internal works including the office setup were done. Now, the project head has been telling that the runway has been completed for some unanticipated landing

Till now, Tribhuwan International Airport is the only international airport in Nepal. Due to overcrowd of people and over crowd of airplanes have proved the Tribhuwan International Airport more congested than before.

Keeping all these things into consideration, the construction of Gautambuddha International Airport has been proposed.
